Fashion Optics Ltd was established on July 14th, 1975. It’s founder, the Late Nazrul Islam, (1953-2010), started with a single optical shop in Sadarghat, in Dhaka’s former city center. From these humble origins, he expanded the business into a diverse, multifaceted business. Today, Fashion Optics Ltd has developed into the Fashion Group of businesses with distinct wings operating in ophthalmic equipment, contact lens manufacturing lab, an acetate frame manufacturing plant, Cr39 lab and a free form lab, that together employ over 250 full time staff. In addition to this, Fashion Group has overseen the construction and running of several eye hospitals in Dhaka and Bikrampur districts, for the benefit of the local populous.

 

Following the untimely passing of the chairman on July 29th of 2010, his beloved wife, Mrs. Shamsun Nahar Islam, became the new Chairman and Managing Director of Fashion Group. She is supported by the three Directors; Mrs. Farzana Islam, Mrs. Farhana Islam and Md. Fahimul Islam, as well as a dedicated and highly skilled work force, who together ensure the Fashion Group continues to grow and develop.
